Terrebonne

Despite loving every meal they gave me from their old location on Vermont Street, this was actually my first time at their new location. Probably because my wife doesn't like cajun food. But it was my birthday and she asked me what I want and after thinking about it for a while, I said Terrebonne!

It was a Saturday night and a lot was going on downtown. KPR's Big Band Christmas was at Liberty Hall that night, Rock the Halls was at the Granada, and all of Mass street felt packed with Christmas shoppers. So it was no surprise that nearly every table was taken at Terrebonne. We needed a table of 6 and there was no host to help us - it was counter service and first-come-first-serve for the tables.

But we got lucky and I was able to grab two small tables next to each other and push them together. It didn't take long for our food to come out, starting with a bowl of hush puppies. There's something nastolgic about the hush puppies that make them special, and of course they taste great. And they're also a good medium for trying out all the different hot sauces they have available.

We were still working on the hush puppies (we never did finish them all, there was a lot!) where are main dishes came out. I got a bowl of jambalaya, but only because I needed to order ASAP in order to grab those two tables mentioned earlier. I wish I ordered one of their po-boy sandwhiches, such as the Cuban po-boy. Landon got that and said it was really good, except that the bread was a bit dry.

I'll be back!
