Lucia opened up their pop-up Christmas-themed restaurant to compete with Snow Globe. Snow Globe seems to move to a new location each year, and so the quality of their food and drinks can really very based on where it's at. Last year it was at 23rd Street Brewery and so the food was horrible, the drinks weren't any better, the prices were jacked up from their regular rates, and everyone at the table got an automatic add-on fee added to their bill.
That sort of experience means you'll probably never go back, even if the new location is one of your favorite new restaurants, Delicias del Sur.
Snowed Inn, compared to Snow Globe, did everything better except the decorations. They just needed more, especially more Christmas lights, to really give that wow factor that Snow Globe brings.
The cocktail menu was astounding. I ordered a whiskey-coldbrew-Kahlua cocktail, and it was powerful. Powerful, but good. Logan ordered a rum-coconut-cream-soda-peppermint cocktail and it knocked me back, quite literally. Both drinks were awesome.
The food menu was not as festive, and we both ordered the smash burgers. I love smash burgers, and these ones were REALLY smashed!
But maybe the best part was we weren't gouged on prices. We'll be back next year!
