Red Pepper

After hearing a lot of good things about Red Pepper on the Lawrence sub-reddit, it was time to try it ourselves via a to-go order. I dropped in to make the order, rather than call, and they initially told me it would be a 20 minute wait but in reality it was only 10 minutes. However that was the best part of the experience. The food was very average, I don't know what else to say about it. And I'm glad I brought the food home because the dining area was not very pleasent to be in.

Good food, good beers. The "Pub Grub" appatizer was really really good! I don't know what kind of soft cheese they used but it was delicious. I got a philli cheesesteak and it was really good too, could be the best one in town. Ok, maybe 2nd best to Pepper Jax. Everyone else liked their food two. My only complaint is atmosphere in the dining area is kind of, off.... Like, the lighting is not very cozy, too many shiny surfaces, etc.

Lucia's Snowed Inn.

Lucia opened up their pop-up Christmas-themed restaurant to compete with Snow Globe. Snow Globe seems to move to a new location each year, and so the quality of their food and drinks can really very based on where it's at. Last year it was at 23rd Street Brewery and so the food was horrible, the drinks weren't any better, the prices were jacked up from their regular rates, and everyone at the table got an automatic add-on fee added to their bill.

Lawrence's latest hipster dining experience, located in Basil Leaf Cafe's old spot on 9thst street (but not their OLD old spot on west 6th), has big shoes to fill. But they pull it off.

We came here on a date night and didn't bother with a reservation. We got a table but we got a bit lucky as it was pretty full - it's not a big place. Though the table they gave us was not the booth we wanted. (I'll always complain about the table I'm seated at, it's just a tradition of mine).

Terrebonne

Despite loving every meal they gave me from their old location on Vermont Street, this was actually my first time at their new location. Probably because my wife doesn't like cajun food. But it was my birthday and she asked me what I want and after thinking about it for a while, I said Terrebonne!
